Talentrah
A job marketplace that connects job seekers and employers.

SCOPE
Talentrah originally served only job seekers. I worked on expanding it into a two-sided platform where employers can also post jobs, manage listings, and handle pricing, without redesigning the entire UI from scratch or disrupting existing user flows.

PROBLEM
The product only supported job seekers. Employers had no way to post jobs or manage listings, which limited platform growth and revenue potential. The challenge was not just adding a new feature set. It was integrating an entirely new user type into an existing system without breaking usability or redesigning everything from scratch. Key constraints: - Existing UI had to stay mostly intact - New employer flows had to fit into the current structure - Job seeker experience could not degrade - System needed to support two very different user goals
SOLUTION
I extended the existing product into a dual-role system. Employers were introduced through an onboarding flow that connected into the current product structure. From there, I designed job posting and management screens using existing UI patterns to maintain consistency and reduce engineering overhead. A lightweight employer dashboard was added for posting jobs, editing listings, managing pricing, and tracking job status. The goal was not to redesign the interface, but to carefully reuse and extend it so both job seekers and employers could operate in the same system without friction.

PROCESS
Through reviewing the existing navigation and user priorities, I found that the platform experience was heavily optimized for job seekers, while recruiter actions lacked visibility and clarity.
The primary CTA, “Create Job Loop,” was not immediately understandable, especially for recruiters who are more familiar with direct actions like “Post Job.” This created unnecessary cognitive effort and weakened recruiter onboarding into the platform.

I also identified a hierarchy issue in the interface. The most visible action in the navigation did not align with the platform’s growing goal of supporting both job seekers and recruiters equally. This made the product feel more like a job search tool instead of a balanced hiring marketplace.
To improve the experience, I focused on:
Making recruiter actions easier to find
Replacing unclear wording with familiar language
Improving action hierarchy based on business priority
Keeping secondary actions accessible without overcrowding the main navigation
The final solution helped create a clearer and more balanced experience for both sides of the platform. Tiny wording changes. Huge product impact. UX in a nutshell.

OUTCOME
Talentrah successfully evolved from a job seeker-only platform into a functional two-sided marketplace. Employers could now independently post and manage jobs, while job seekers experienced no disruption to their existing flows. This expansion also laid the groundwork for future monetization through job posting and pricing features, all without rebuilding the core product UI.
